CONTRIVE To Support OPETH In Australia

October 27, 2009

Melbourne trio CONTRIVE will be direct support for OPETH on a run of Australian shows next month. The dates are as follows:

Nov. 22 - The Tivoli, Brisbane (18+)
Nov. 23 - Enmore Theatre, Sydney (Lic A/A)
Nov. 25 - Palace Theatre, Melbourne (18+)

These upcoming shows will focus purely on the CONTRIVE's forthcoming second album, now to be titled "The Internal Dialogue", set for release in early 2010. The follow-up to 2006's "The Meaning Unseen" was mixed by Devin Townsend (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) at Studio D in downtown Vancouver, Canada with the band's drummer Andrew Haug.

The group is currently shopping the CD around to various labels to secure a deal for its release.

Andrew Haug has been hosting Triple J's weekly national metal program "The Racket" (formerly "Full Metal Racket") since 2001. He is a longtime metalhead who has conducted interviews with such greats as METALLICA, TOOL, PANTERA, SLAYER, OZZY OSBOURNE and more.
